The second time we stayed we went into thornbury village and went to a lovely restaurant called Ronnies - still a little bit pricey but cheaper than the castle and much more 'everyday' meats and dishes - very friendly and wicked food.Unfortunately Thornbury castle seems to be getting more expensive each year so I doubt if we will go again in the near future unless it is a 'very' special occasion.
